This carpet is knotted in the province of Fars in southwest of Iran, with the city of Shiraz as the capital province. The carpet was originally knotted by nomads that lived in the area, but nowadays most of them are resident in smaller villages in the province. The pattern in the carpet is typical for nomads with motifs of simple geometric figures and often with one or more rhombs in the center. The bottom color is often red and the motifs in different blue nuances. There are also stilized flowers and bird motifs. The carpets are rustic and of good quality.
